Leadership Looks Like Service
Mark 10:43–45 (WEB)
“Whoever wants to become great among you shall be your servant. Whoever of you wants to become first among you, shall be bondservant of all. For the Son of Man also came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Yesterday, I worked on a page about leadership.
Today, I was reminded that Jesus defined leadership very differently from the world.
Not position.
Not recognition.
Not being served.
Serving.
Sometimes leadership looks ordinary.
It can be giving someone our time, helping when something needs to be done, or simply being available.
Those moments may never look impressive from the outside.
But they reveal something important about our character.
Leadership isn’t only what we teach.
It’s what we practice.
The page matters.
But the practice matters more.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Teach me to lead the way Jesus did.
Give me a heart that is willing to serve, help, listen, and be available when I’m needed.
Keep me humble, and help my actions reflect the principles I say I believe.
May the way I serve others point back to You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
